Alejandro Murillo
About
Alejandro was born and raised in Honduras. He obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. He was President of the medical student association, participated in multiple outreach programs, and graduated summa cum laude. After obtaining his MD, he spent 2 years at the George Washington University performing research in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, and thoracic surgery. He is currently a resident for the integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency program at Duke University Hospital. He is the co-founder fo the Duke Heart for Honduras initiative, recipient of the 2020 Thoracic Surgical Foundation Every Heartbeat Matters grant.
