About
Originally from the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, I came to the U.S. alone at the age of 16 to attend high school. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Molecular Biology, I started medical school at University of Illinois College of Medicine. I graduated from medical school this year and just started my Internal Medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins.
Being an international student on a visa adds so many unique challenges to our journeys in medicine that our schools, peers, colleagues or mentors often do not even know about. Having faced unique challenges myself, I am hoping to use the insight I have gained to become a mentor to support you and your journey as a physician or aspiring physician in the U.S.
