Chiara Bettale
About
Chiara was born and raised in Milan (Italy) and she came to the US to attend UPenn for college in 2014. After graduating in 2018 with a major in Biological Basis of Behavior, she spent two gap-years before medical school working as a medical scribe and a clinical research coordinator. She is currently a rising fourth-year medical student at Emory School of Medicine and she is applying to combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics programs for residency in the Fall of 2023. Chiara had to apply twice to get into medical school and is happy to share her experience with other international pre-med students to help them maximize their chances on their application cycle. She is also happy to share challenges and strategies to navigate the residency application process as an international student on an F1 VISA.
