As an immigrant, it is often the case that very little in our lives is straightforward. Such was the case with my path to medical school, but in summary:

I was a premed math & physics major at Washington and Lee (c/o 2016) and loved the computational side of research. Medicine was always the end goal, but for various reasons (immigration being a prominent one), I pursued my Ph.D. at Georgia Tech (2022, QBioS ) before starting medical school at Mayo Clinic Rochester.
