Diego is a Psychiatry intern at WashU. He is originally from Spain and graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 2021. He received his undergraduate B.A. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Middlebury College. He spent a year working as a research assistant at Boston Children's Hospital and a year back at Middlebury as a research assistant, track and field assistant coach, and volunteer Spanish interpreter at a free clinic. During his medical education, Diego spent his third year conducting research in Singapore and Malaysia as a Duke-NUS fellow. He then decided to take a leave of absence from medical school to pursue an MPhil in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge.
