About
I was born and raised in Japan (though both of my parents are Chinese) and moved to the US at 15. I attended the University of Rochester, where I majored in microbiology and minored in public health and music. During college, I worked in various roles, including as a Resident Advisor, Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, Peer Health Advocate, and President of a community service club called STEM Initiative. I also worked as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department and as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a long-term care facility.
I'm passionate about women's and community health, health advocacy, and education. I also love running, baking, and playing the piano (music was a huge part of keeping me sane throughout this process). The journey to medical school was definitely challenging for me, especially as an international student. So please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can offer support in any way.
During my gap years, I worked as an endoscopic procedural technician in a hospital and later became a clinical research coordinator in maternal medicine.
