Khai received his B.A. in Biochemistry from Earlham College in May 2020. In college, he spent the majority of his time doing research on molecular probes for arsenic detection. During his junior year, he took a semester off to do research full-time at the University of Pennsylvania, studying drugs that target the ubiquitin-proteasome system. Outside of academics, Khai also volunteered extensively with Operation Smile, and is actively involved in medical education reform in Vietnam.
