Kennis Htet is a first generation, Burmese college and medical student at Tulane University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Tulane University, and was accepted into Tulane Medical School through the early acceptance Creative Premedical Scholars Program. During his time in college, he was an Emergency Medical Technician through Tulane EMS, and worked as a research assistant in Tulane Behavioral and Neurodevelopment Genetics Laboratory (BANGL). He was also involved in undergraduate student government and international student advisory board, and acted as an ambassador for potential international and local students. He was awarded several grants for his involvement and research in BANGL, and is the recipient of Anthony F. Mary Anne Corsaniti Award for his thesis on universal health care comparative analysis.
