Hailing from Shanghai, China, Lixin came to the U.S. for college where she majored in Government and worked with refugees. After college, she started a social enterprise through which she sold vegan food, educated her clients about the benefits of a plant-based diet and provided thriving wages to her employees, including a refugee from Bhutan. After meeting people who dealt with diseases that she couldn’t address with veganism, a spark was ignited in her to pursue medicine so that she could one day provide tangible improvement to people’s health. Lixin is passionate about connecting with people, exchanging ideas, and learning from others’ experiences.
