Sakshi was born in India and lived in five different countries before coming to the US to attend UCLA in 2015. After graduating in 2019 with a major in Human Biology and Society, she spent three years working as a healthcare consultant in Pennsylvania. She is currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago (she is proud to be at the medical school with the highest number of international students.) During medical school, she co-founded a student organization for international students (International Medical Student Association) and has built numerous resources for international students at her school. Her other interests include integrative medicine, medical education and serving the immigrant and refugee communities.

She applied to US medical schools twice and is happy to share her experiences.
