Yasaman Badakhshi is a first-year medical student at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. She grew up in Ontario, Canada, and received a Bachelor of Medical Science degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2018. She then completed a Master’s degree in Physiology at the University of Toronto. During her undergraduate and graduate degrees, Yasaman was involved with the organization Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM), where she advocated for implementing mechanisms that minimize global health disparities, such as adoption of equitable technology transfer of essential medicines.
