Yunji is a Korean first-generation medical student attending Stanford School of Medicine. She was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and completed her B.A. in biochemistry and neurobiology, as well as M.S. in chemistry at University of Pennsylvania. During her undergraduate years, she was a tutor for elementary school children in West Philadelphia. After graduation, Yunji spent a gap year continuing research on genetic risk factors and molecular mechanisms of Parkinson's Disease.
